On March 21, 2024, the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Government Polytechnic, Jamnagar, organized a workshop on Internal Combustion (I.C.) Engines for students, held at 2:00 PM onwards in Room No. 127. The event, attended by 26 participants, aimed to provide practical insights into the functioning, design, and applications of I.C. engines, a cornerstone of mechanical engineering. The workshop was coordinated by Shri A. M. Galani, with support from faculty members, and featured an expert session conducted by a representative from EdTech, ensuring a blend of academic and industry-relevant perspectives.

The session covered fundamental topics such as the working principles of I.C. engines, types (petrol and diesel), combustion processes, and their applications in automotive and industrial sectors. Through a combination of theoretical explanations and practical demonstrations, the expert highlighted key components like pistons, crankshafts, and fuel injection systems, emphasizing their roles in engine performance and efficiency. Students engaged actively, asking questions about engine maintenance, fuel efficiency, and emerging trends like hybrid engines.
